HTC Desire coming to 3 Mobile

The latest news from the 3-Mobile network is that it's going to be offering HTC's new Android-based smartphone, Desire, in spring this year. The Desire smartphone has a super-fast 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and an 800 x 480 capacitive, 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA touch-screen. It runs Android 2.1, has an on-board memory capacity of 512MB, Flash 10.1 support, and can use Micro SDHC memory cards of as much as 32GB. Very similar to the Nexus One, the HTC Desire has a sensor key in place of a trackball, and the 'Sense' overlay from HTC runs on top of Android 2.1.

That's a lot of features and massive memory packed into this sleek little handset, enough to run any app you could want, and store all your photos, videos and films. The HTC Desire that's coming to 3 will also be shipped complete with Facebook�, Twitter� and Skype applications already loaded. That makes it perfect for those who use the social networks for play or work, and a better deal than other providers are offering. Ofcom has focussed its attention on areas that have no, or poor reception, and is working to ensure that consumers get the best mobile coverage. 3 Mobile already has the largest mobile network in the UK, and intends to continue to expand it in order to give its users have an even faster, bigger, better network. That means Mobile Broadband clients will have a faster service, and 3G users in general will have better coverage for calls and internet usage on their mobiles.

What is Mi-Fi?

Simply, it's Wi-Fi to go. You will just need to buy a 3 wireless modem which you can use to connect to any wireless device. And Mi-Fi means people can connect up to five devices to the modem at the same time. So while you are checking e-mails on a laptop, you could also can download a track from iTunes onto your

iPod touch.

The modem certainly looks pretty swish, maybe each LED will light up when a device is connected, but it's too early to say at the moment...

3 are the only network to offer MiFi. This will be released near the end of September 2009 so watch this space for more about this awesome product!

The shorter term and competitive pricing of the 6 month phone contracts has made the 12 month long contract redundant it seems!
